Just to the north of us, an attractive 20.6 mile walking path will get you all the way around nearby Lake Geneva. The walk is free and you can access the path from any public park on the lake. And if you’re not up for the mini-marathon, the path can be enjoyed in segments as well. McHenry County possibilities Lake Geneva isn’t the only place with a wealth of outdoor activities. Check out the Century Hikers Club — an incentive program for all ages that will get you out to enjoy the nature of McHenry County while hiking the trails of the Conservation District. For a one-time membership fee of $10, you’ll receive a logbook to keep track of your miles and a starter pack of MCCD site maps.
