Give Something Back
When income is not a concern, a great way to remain active and vibrant is to volunteer your time and talents to an organization that you care about. The list is endless, and your local library, Chamber of Commerce, or the Internet can help you find the organizations in your area that will benefit from your help. When looking to volunteer, you can be selective. Whether it’s a local library, a soup kitchen, or the local Red Cross, you can find a volunteer opportunity that feels right for you. In addition, volunteering often allows people the opportunity to explore new skills or use skills they could not use at their jobs. A client of ours left the corporate world and now enjoys doing magic shows for children at a local children’s center on weekends. The most significant reward is that special feeling you get from helping other people.
